Presidential Election 08

For the past several weeks, I've been reading a lot of online news stories about the upcoming presidential election, and the more I read about the candidates, the more pain I feel to ever imagine John McCain and Sarah Palin ever having the chance to take office. I don't know how you guys back home in the states are taking-in on all of these campaign ads, messages, and what not, but from what I have been hearing and reading, it seems like a no-brainer as to who we should all vote for.

I don't know much about Obama, and I don't know much about McCain either, but after having read so many news articles and stories about Sarah Palin, it makes me want to see McCain and Palin lose maybe 10 times over. Is McCain out of his mind when he picked her to be his running mate?! We all know that this election is a significant one because a guy that's not white might be the next president, but that doesn't mean that you have to do something crazy to prove that you're special too. McCain probably feels that the V.P. is no big thing, therefore having a woman V.P. will make him just as special as Obama for being black... okay we got it... but man, you picked the wrong woman.

"Sarah Palin, and the RNC came under scrutiny this week after the party committee reported that it had spent about $150,000 on wardrobe and cosmetics for Palin and her family." From a news story I read today. Later, McCain said this about Palin's $150k shopping spree, ""She needed clothes at the time." There was something else earlier this week about her charging the state money to fly and board her kids around the US. Frankly speaking, when given the opportunity to save a little extra cash, anyone would definitely do it, but for her, State Governor, charging other people's money (tax money) to pamper her kids is insulting.

There was another thing, about her making an appearance on SNL, man, what was that about?! If she's suppose to be one of America's 'leaders' then shouldn't she spend more of her time trying to do some good instead of getting face time on some TV show. She can say she has a sense of humour, but those jokes aren't jokes, they really are showing how America views Sarah Palin.

Is this what our world is coming to these days? Just like everything else... for example: music. I love classic rock, oldies, mo-town, all of that stuff of the 60s and 70s, but anything after the music television generation is nothing more than pretty faces with background music. Back when it was just music, where there wasn't a 'video' to portray a song, we were allowed to let our imagination run free and we had fun with it. With music videos, all we see now is just that pretty face that mutes the rest of the music. I know I'm part of this 'new' MTV generation too, but I know what the radio is, and I still listen to it everyday. Like music, TV, and this superficial generation, politics is the same way. Have the V.P. stand next to the president, mute her, and make sure she keeps smiling.

Alright, I'm done feeling so negative. They wont win, no way in hell. McCain doomed himself with this fucked up gamble. Too bad for him... I hear McCain is spending $1.5 million a day on this campaign... man, what a waste. I guess he's just like everyone else, you go and do something for the experience... You only live once, might as well spend all of your money on a meaningless campaign.

Vote Obama.
